What We Teach

All four modules, taught to the marking criteria

Understanding what the examiner is actually looking for is worth more than another practice test.

Listening

30 minutes · 40 questions

Four recordings from everyday conversation to academic lecture. We drill the predictable question types, accent familiarisation, spelling accuracy and the transfer discipline that costs candidates easy marks.

Reading

60 minutes · 40 questions

Three passages, no extra transfer time. We teach skimming and scanning, True/False/Not Given logic, matching headings and the time allocation that gets you through all three passages.

Writing

60 minutes · 2 tasks

Task 1 data description or letters, Task 2 essay. Taught against the four official band descriptors, with every submission marked line by line rather than given a number.

Speaking

11-14 minutes · 3 parts

Personal questions, cue card and abstract discussion. Recorded practice, filler reduction, pronunciation and the extended reasoning that Part 3 requires for band 7 and above.

Why Prepare With Us

The difference is in the feedback, not the syllabus

Every centre teaches the same four modules. What separates a band 6.5 result from a band 7.5 result is whether someone qualified sat down with your essay and showed you which descriptor you were failing, and then made you write it again.

Verified band 8+ faculty

Ask to see an instructor score report. We will show you one. Ask every centre you visit.

Writing marked to the descriptors

Line-by-line correction against Task Response, Coherence, Lexical Resource and Grammar, not just a band number.

Full mock tests included

Real timing, real conditions, real face-to-face speaking examiner, with a band-wise report afterwards.

Registration under the same roof

Prepare and register in one place, at the official British Council fee, on a date chosen around your deadline.

Questions

IELTS course questions

Which IELTS course should I take?

It depends on your starting band, your target band and your deadline. First-time candidates with three months available usually take the Regular Course. Working professionals take the Executive Course. Candidates needing 7.5 or above take Premium. If you only need to fix one or two modules, Customized is more efficient and cheaper. Take our free diagnostic test and we will recommend the right one rather than the most expensive one.

How long does it take to improve by one band?

Realistically, six to eight weeks of structured study with regular marked writing and speaking practice. Moving from 5.5 to 6.5 is usually faster than moving from 6.5 to 7.5, because the higher bands require precision rather than coverage. Anyone promising a two-band jump in three weeks is selling you something.

Do you teach both Academic and General Training?

Yes. Listening and Speaking are identical in both. Reading and Writing differ, and our classes cover the version you need. Tell us which one you are sitting when you enrol so your practice material matches.

Are your instructors actually certified?

Every IELTS instructor at FRS holds a verified band 8 or above and has taught the exam for years. You are welcome to ask to see an instructor score report before you enrol. We think you should ask that of every centre you consider.

What if I do not reach my target band?

Regular Course students who attend at least 85 percent of classes and complete all assigned writing tasks can re-sit the course free of charge. We would rather teach you twice than have you pay for a test you are not ready for.

Can I take classes online?

Customized and One to One courses run online via Zoom or Google Meet. Group courses run in-centre because speaking practice genuinely does not work as well remotely in a group setting.

Not sure which course fits you?

Take our free diagnostic test at the centre. You will see your current band in each module and get a straight recommendation, with no pressure to enrol.
