Study in Canada
Affordable world-class education with a clear, structured route to permanent residency.
Why Canada?
Canada combines high-quality education at a lower cost than the UK or USA with the most transparent immigration pathway of any major destination. The Post-Graduation Work Permit, followed by Express Entry, gives international graduates a defined, points-based route to permanent residence.
Clear permanent residency route
Canadian study experience and work experience both earn points under Express Entry, making graduates strong PR candidates.
Post-Graduation Work Permit
An open work permit valid for up to three years depending on the length of your programme, with no employer sponsorship required.
Lower total cost
Tuition and living costs are meaningfully lower than comparable programmes in the UK, USA or Australia.
Safe and welcoming
Consistently ranked among the safest countries for international students, with strong legal protections and public healthcare in most provinces.
Co-op and internship programmes
Many colleges build paid work terms into the curriculum, so you graduate with Canadian work experience already on your CV.
Spouse work permit
Spouses of eligible students can apply for an open work permit, which many families find decisive.

What is a GIC and do I need one?
A Guaranteed Investment Certificate is a Canadian bank deposit, historically CAD 20,635, that is released to you in instalments after arrival to cover living costs. It is a requirement for the faster direct stream route and is often recommended even for regular applications because it demonstrates funds clearly.
Is a college diploma as good as a university degree?
For employment and PGWP purposes, an eligible college diploma or post-graduate certificate carries the same work permit rights as a degree and is often more directly employment-focused. Confirm that the programme and institution are PGWP-eligible before applying, which we always check.
Can my spouse work in Canada?
Spousal open work permit eligibility has been narrowed and now generally applies to spouses of students in specific graduate-level and professional programmes. We confirm the current rule for your exact programme.
How long does a study permit take?
Processing times vary considerably by season and stream. Applying four to six months before your intake gives comfortable margin.
