Why UK?

The UK remains the first choice for Bangladeshi students who want a globally respected degree in the shortest possible time. A taught masters takes just twelve months, tuition is paid in a single academic year, and the Graduate Route lets you stay and work for two years after you finish without needing a job offer first.

One-year masters degrees

A UK taught masters is completed in twelve months, so you spend less on tuition and living costs and enter the job market a full year earlier than most other destinations.

Graduate Route visa

International graduates can remain in the UK for two years (three for PhD holders) to work or look for work in any role, at any skill level.

Globally ranked institutions

The UK hosts a large share of the world top 100 universities, and UK qualifications are recognised by employers everywhere.

Part-time work while studying

Students on a full-time degree course are generally permitted to work up to 20 hours per week during term and full time during vacations.

Strong Bangladeshi community

Established Bangladeshi communities in London, Birmingham, Manchester and Luton make settling in significantly easier for first-time travellers.

Scholarship availability

Most UK universities offer international merit scholarships, and Chevening funds a limited number of fully-funded masters places each year.

Questions

Studying in United Kingdom: common questions

Do I need IELTS for a UK student visa?

For most degree courses at licensed sponsors, the university can assess your English internally or accept an academic IELTS. However many universities still ask for IELTS UKVI, and it is required for pre-sessional English and below-degree-level courses. We confirm the exact requirement for your chosen university before you book a test.

How much bank balance do I need for a UK student visa?

You must show the outstanding tuition fee for your first year plus living costs of £9,207 per year outside London or £12,006 in London, for up to nine months. The money must sit in an acceptable account for 28 consecutive days ending no more than 31 days before you apply.

Can I bring my spouse to the UK?

Dependant rules for taught masters students have tightened considerably. Research-based postgraduate courses and government-sponsored scholarships generally still allow dependants. Our counsellors will confirm the current position for your specific course.

How long does the UK student visa take?

Standard processing from Bangladesh is typically around three weeks after biometrics, with priority services available at additional cost. We advise applying at least eight weeks before your course start date.

Ready to apply to UK?

Bring your transcripts and a realistic budget. In one session you will leave with a shortlist of UK universities you can actually reach, a cost sheet covering tuition of £11,000 - £18,000 per year for most universities we work with, and a timeline worked back from your target intake.
