Questions

Questions about the IELTS Regular Course

Is two months enough to cover all four IELTS modules?

The Regular Course runs for two months and 24 classes, three days a week at two hours per class, moving module by module from listening foundations in week one to full mock tests in week eight. It is deliberately unhurried so you have practice time between classes. Most first-time candidates aiming at band 6.0 to 7.0 find that pace workable.

What happens if I do not get my target band after finishing the course?

You can apply to re-sit the Regular Course. We would rather teach you a second time than watch you sit the exam again unprepared. Before the re-sit we go through your score report with you to work out which module actually cost you the marks, so the second run is not a repeat of the first.

Is a batch of 12 to 15 students too big to get proper speaking practice?

It is a group classroom, so you will not be talking for the whole two hours. We run speaking partner sessions and pronunciation drills through the programme to keep everyone active, and week seven is given over to speaking. If speaking is the one thing you need to fix, be honest with yourself and look at Premium or One to One instead.

Does the Regular Course cover both Academic and General Training writing?

Yes. Weeks five and six cover Task 1 for both versions: charts, graphs, processes and maps for Academic, and letters for General Training. Task 2 essay types are shared, so opinion, discussion, problem and solution and advantage and disadvantage essays are taught to the whole batch. Tell us which version you are sitting when you enrol.

Will I practise on computer-based IELTS or paper-based IELTS?

Both. The two full-length mock tests in week eight run as computer-based and paper-based simulations under real exam timing, so you can decide which format suits you before you book your test. The recorded listening library also lets you rehearse with different accents at home between classes.

Ready to enrol in the IELTS Regular Course?

This format runs over 2 months across 24 classes, aiming at Band 6.0 - 7.0. Call for the next batch date, or sit a diagnostic first and let the result decide whether this is your level.
