Studying in Denmark: common questions
Is Denmark expensive?
Living costs are high in absolute terms, but student accommodation, discounted transport and the absence of hidden fees make the total manageable. Budget carefully and apply early for student housing, which is limited in Copenhagen.
Do I need to speak Danish?
Not for study, as programmes are in English and English is spoken almost universally. Learning Danish substantially improves your job prospects after graduation, however.
Can I work while studying in Denmark?
Yes. Your residence permit includes a work permit for part-time work during the academic year and full-time work during June to August.
